as i know iges is the best extension for solidworks,
but whatever extension you use (Step, Iges , STL ) you will not be able to get features history.
you will have to use feature recognition to get the features , or direct editing tool to modify it.
Is it true Solidworks can also import version 4 Rhino .3dm files?
here is a scrnsht of native files,
that SW will import- work-up/feature recog. (as per Ahmed Lasheen 's post),
will be required, dependant on final requirements

Sorry Mark i didn't notice that Rhino extension exists in the import file extension,
but it will give the same result as .igs (imported solid part) , so you should learn more about feature recognition.
