I am a rookie in SW. I was watching this SW tutorial and I was wondering how to model this wheel, specially how to create these spokes. Please help me and Thank you !
You can try to figure-out from the feature tree.
First you should keep in mind that there are 3 planes (Front, top, right ) by default. So if you design in the center no need for an extra plane.
So first select the front plane and open a sketch to create a circle.
now you can use the thin extrude command to extrude the circle by giving the thickness. Now you have the wheel. But use mid-plane option for the end-condition to have front plane in the middle of the wheel
for the spokes you should use the top view. Select the top view and design another circle that will define the section of the spoke. be careful, center of the circle should be at the origin. So now it is time to make an other extrude. But this time it is better to give an up to surface end condition and select the inner face of the spoke.
for the center bushing you need to open a new sketch again on the front view. just draw a circle again in the origin which has the needed size. Again use the mid-plane end condition.
Now you hava a circular feature in the center and you can use the edge for the circular pattern for the spoke. Select the edge of the bushing to define the rotation drection and enter the number of instences.
Lastly open a sketch on the top face of the bushin and cut extrude a circle to define the center hole.
Hope it helps
Thank you so much
as per Ilker Uludag mentioned , find attached part for clarification,
so follow llker steps , and if you faced any problem check the attached file.
Meng, your screen shot shows how the part was constructed. Why don't you finish watching the tutorial?
