My system is set to MMGS, but in the document properties the default dual dimension length is Inches - can I set this to MM as a default setting?
I can't see why not.
Either you can make a drafting standard with that setting (document properties / drafting standard / overall drafting standard) that you load when needed or you just make it the default setting in your template(s).
The question I can't help wondering about is why would you want the dual dimension to be in mm when your primary dimension is in mm as well?
Have a nice one
The reason for wanting to change this is that when I generate a DXF, if I don't manually change this setting, when the DXF is viewed with Draftsight or Sigma Nest the measurement units are displayed as Imperial, so even if I set the output scale as 1:1 the laser programmer has to calculate what I actually want - not always successfully.
If the primary units are MM then DXF should be in MM too. Cant verify it now but it should work like that.
In all my years I've been lucky never to have needed to use Imperial because the companies I work(ed) for didn't do business in Myanmar, Liberia or the USA
In other words all the dxf's, dwg's, pdf's that we convert from SLDDRW's are in metric without having the need to use the dual dimension feature to make them metric.
I would suspect something else is zigging when it should be zagging.
