I look at the preview of a SLDBLK file I just created in olidworks and it renders the literal code. Same with other files I have saved for convienence sake, even NOTES that I have saved doesn't show up properly in the preview window.
I know of no preview option for these files. that's why we use the design library so we can drag them in from the task pane inside of SW (files are still stored in the EPDM vault, of course).
So, they won't ever display properly because, from what I see, it wasn't designed for these files, but the design library is.
However, the reason why I wanted to do this in the first place is that having a shortcut in your design library will make it so that you MUST be signed into the EPDM server before you start Solidworks. If you start up Solidworks before signing in, it will crash because it cannot access the folder before you sign-in and crashes the program.
Auto-sign-in should solve that issue for me.
Thanks for your input.
