WHEN I EXTRUDE BOSS/BASE A SHEETMETAL PART WITH FLANGES, I CANT GET THE FLAT PATTERN TO SHOW UP TO DRAG AND DROP? WHEN I USE THE BASE FLANGE TAB, I HAVE NO PROBLEM. I AM USING THE FLATTEN KEY, BUT GET NO FLAT PATTERN WHEN I TRY TO CREATE A DRAWING?
Can you post an example of a part exhibiting the problem?
It sounds like you are trying to create a drawing of a sheet metal part, and perhaps you started the drawing before you converted to sheet metal? It's fine if you are, I'm trying to recreate your issue and so far that's my guess at what is happening. If that's the case I think your fix is a simple Refresh on your View Palette in your drawing window. Try hitting this button:
If that doesn't give you what you are looking for, please add a little more step by step of what you are doing and even attach the files you are working on and perhaps I can help more. What is your experience / skill level with sheet metal modeling?
I'm thinking you created a "L" shaped protrusion and one of your legs are thicker than the other. Wouldn't know for sure till we saw you part.
right click on the view on your drawing and hit properties. in the center of the box that pops up under "Use named configuration" hit the drop down arrow and select the flat pattern and then hit ok. YOu should be able to toggle back and fourth between the default view and the flat pattern view. Tom
