2014-2015 Student Edition Installation Error

I have read about the infamous VSTA error and 1603 error during installation.  I am also receiving this error message when installing the 64-bit edition on Windows 7.

 

I am logged into my computer with administrative privileges.  I have also tried right-click "Run as Administrator..." on setup.exe

 

I tried uninstalling Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 for Applications.

NOTE: I was not able to find any key in the registry called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VSTAHost

 

I have tried manually installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 for Applications from the PreReqs folder.

 

All to no avail.  I have attached the installation log file.

Correct Answer

Can you try disabling the UAC under control panel and try again.

 

Also uninstall and re-install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 for Applications if that helps.

 

Finally check if you can found this key instead HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VSTAHostConfig? If yes then rename it.
