Ed, We have added the SSD drives on all of our new work stations coming into service. We have had no problems, and they are much faster with seek and find. I would defiantly recommend SSD main drives.

No problem Ed, We have been using the Intel SSD-530 series 180 Gb. All of our files are stored on our servers. So 180 Gb is more than enough for our local machines.

Get yourself the LARGEST SSD you can afford and use it for your main C:\ drive. All your software will open much faster. I have had solidworks open up, ready to pick a file to open in as little as 5 seconds.... this is of course once it has been cached, or opened recently. Even on a cold start up Solidworks will open up in about 10 - 15 seconds.
