This question is sort of a follow up question to a previous one about using multiple BOMs and Configurations. What I think I have determined is that these things work as expected for Parts Only boms and models using a parts/assembly workflow, but I don't know how to make it work using indented boms and weldments. In the below picture, I have one part with 3 configurations (default, config 1, config 2). The only difference is config 1 and 2 each have a different box suppressed. What I would like to do is have the bottom right view linked balloon item numbers to either the config 1 bom, or the config 2 bom. What should happpen (this would happen using parts only modeling) is the bodies that are the same as in the other configuration should get the correct part numbers, and the one body that isn't in that configuration should get an asterisk. Unfortunately what actually happens is all the bodies get an asterisk.
This is a problem for me because my models always involve both multibody parts and parts/assemblies and I use an indented BOM with some features dissolved or rolled up.
Cheers,
