What is the default solver on the other machine, FEEPLUS(iterative) or Direct Sparse ?
Have you tried to switch to "Direct Sparse" ?
Both machines are using the iterative solver. I will try "direct sparse".
This might also help:
When running on analysis, the Following error message Appears and the analysis is stopped.
PCG iterative solver stopped
Status code: 8 FILE_ERROR
No results saved.
This error will pop up if the software is not able to save / write to the hard disk.
This May happen due to many Reasons like low hard disk space, permissions, network failure or some antivirus software interrupting.
Whether you have check writing privileges to the folder where the files are to be created results (check in the Study's properties).
Check the disk space on all your hard drives. Free some space if needed.
If you are working on a network drive, consider moving all the files locally and run the analysis locally before transfer ring all the files back to the network.
See if you antivirus system is Preventing you from running the analysis. You can for instance stop it temporarily create exceptions to allow of COSMOS solvers to run.
I had seen that answer on some of the forums, but just cleared even more space now and solved the problem.
you had 17gb of freespace and you cleared more and that fixed the issue? that should have been plenty even for a 6million dof problem. what was the size of your results file in the end? maybe the problem was actually that your results were pointing to the network and that was causing the issue?
