Why has the u3d export format been removed in 2015? I can no longer import into 3d pdfs now this save option has been removed. Is there any other format i can use?
In my SOLIDWORKS I have option to save PDF 3D and I use 2015 version.
Also I found information u3d in 2015 is not supported format. But why I don't now.
Here's some background information
2015 No longer Saves 3D PDF Files??
That is not removed
You save your file as pdf file
then their will be two options , one will be pdf other 3d pdf
Please refer to post Re: 2015 No longer Saves 3D PDF Files?? which explains why u3d format has been removed. In nutshell
1) Its a old technology which is in 32 bit only (and 2016 being 64 bit only cannot have it)
2) The save as 3DPDF is NOT removed.
3) Check out new MBD product which was announced and will be available soon where you can create sophisticated PDFs
Re. 1) I disagree. The datamodel has nothing to do with file output.
"u3d" was and is very useful neutral format to embed into other DTP Sytems, esp. Tex.
AFAIK there is no replacement.
Yet another issue to look after other systems ?
