When using an assembly that is linked to a design table can I stop solidworks from opening each individual part?

I have only been using SolidWorks for about 10 months now.

I want to start using design tables to help seed up some of my work flow.

one of the areas that I would like to use them for is to easily create configurations in my assemblies and have them linked to the DT so that if I find I need to add some more configurations at a later date I can just change the Excel spread sheet.

So I have worked out how to create the DT and link them to the Assembly and all the Parts but when I open the assembly solidworks wants to open all of the parts as well in a separate window.

Is there anyway I can stop this from happening?
