I have created a solid rod in SW 2014 and I want to simulate a bending situation. Basically the rod will be supported at two points near the center while the loads will be on either side of the rod near the ends. How do I do this?

Hello,
I have attached the file. I basically want to simulate two supports situated 12 inches on either side of the center of the rod and two point loads on either side each located 16 inches from the end of the rod.
Thanks
Bump!
I lost track of this one.
I will come back in a while with possible solution.
First thing I noticed is that your Sketch1 is not fully constrained and making use of obvious symmetry about the origin.
I would expect anyone to have mastered basic sketching techniques long before moving to an advanced topic like FEA.
Back in a few minutes.
First I moved the midpoint of the axis of revolution to the origin.
Then I change the radial dimension to diametric (doesn't really make a difference - except to me).
Note missing dimension on the groove.
I would dimension this and make the line co-linear with line on other end.
When I check the other end - the slot is the same. Was the depth once dimensioned? What happened to the dimensions?
First of all. I appreciate you helping me and I apologize for the many mistakes in my part. I am very new to SW. The design is that of a barbell, the ends of which will hold weights. I want to simulate that and observe the stresses in different materials to select the material.
The depth was indeed once dimensioned. I have a bad habit of deleting dimensions just so that the sketch looks "neater". The depth is 0.7 mm.
The width of the real world supports would be 100mm (same as my hands). The width of the faces of the locations of the loads is 1 inch. I would be grateful if you could teach me how to incorporate these in the part.
Thanks

What is the width of the real world supports?
What is the width of the faces of the real world locations of the loads?
Yes. Thank you. This is 99.99% of what I want to achieve. The only difference is that since my hands would be the support. The bar would have an arch in the middle also. Currently with the supports fixed, only the part of the bar outside the supports is bending. In real life, the whole bar would arch. But thank you.
Attach your attempt here (and/or a hand sketch).
You might have to Split the face.
