My company has several different divisions over NA and Europe. If I lose access to the network license server through our company intranet, is there a way I can get a licence by logging into our server remotely or can I access the licence through Solidworks?
Thoughts would be appreciated.
if IT has not locked it out any user can check out a license for I believe for 30 day and you do not need the network connection to start it.
We had guys travel to China and they would do this because in some parts there wasn't any internet.
Borrowing and Returning SolidNetWork Licenses
You can borrow a SolidNetWork license to use the software from a remote location. Since the license is removed from the pool of available licenses, a borrowed license must be returned for it to become available again.
The license is lent for a specified period of time, up to 30 days (or as defined by the system administrator), and the license is removed from the pool of available licenses.
System administrators can customize borrowing to:- Define users or groups that are allowed to borrow licenses
- Set the number of licenses that cannot be borrowed
For details, see SolidNetWork_License_Manager_install_dir\Docs\flexuser\licensingenduserguide.pdf.Contents
