Adding equation to Qty. column

We are using Routed Systems to create piping models. In our detaildrawing BOM, we are trying to add an equation to the quantitycolumn to either display the total quantity of each fitting or thetotal length of each pipe segment. Can anyone help us with this?

I've been sweating this point since someone asked me to put solder in an assemlby drawing.
I haven't been able to do it succesfully.
I've submitted an enhancement request for Solidworks BOM tables to accept SQL arguments and display domain aggregate values so you could total up partial quantitities for things like pipe and glue.
If you find a way to get your equations working, I would very much like to hear about it.

  I agree. Total Quantities for pipe would be great. I would be happywith just listing the length for each segment.
  
  We have been manually going into the quantity cell and typing inthe parameter $PRP:"SWPipeLength" for each pipe segment.That, however, takes extra time plus the risk of missing a cell orforgetting to change the cell after a change.
  
  It would be great to have some way to perform the functionautomatically.

    Post that one in the routing group. I do electrical routing and there's a bom template for creating a circuit sumary with wire lengths. There's got to be something like that for pipe.

        I did this last year with our pipe length....here's my formula:
        
        =IF('SWPipeLength'<>"";'SWPipeLength';' QTY.')
        
        Basically if it finds anything in SWPipeLength, then it'll replace that qty field with that value instead of the standard quantity. hope this helps!

        Thanks for the input. That is the same formula we startedusing.
        
        The problem with the formula however, is if the route has two ormore segments that are exactly the same length. SW will only showthe one length which is, of course, incorrect.
        
        What we were attempting to do was modify the formula as such:
        
        =IF('SWPipeLength'<>"";'SWPipeLength'*'QTY.';'QTY.')
        
        So, if a route had two segments 6" long, this formula wouldreport a length of 12". Unfortunately, what SW shows is avalue of 0.
        
        We did contact our reseller and have gotten confirmation that thisenhancement request is being worked on. The Enhancement should beready by service pack 4 or 5 at the latest.
