Example:
I am editing a fillet which includes several edges around a part. I use the mousewheel to zoom in / out of the areas I am selecting. Oftentimes rather than zooming, the mouse wheel controls the dimension of the fillet in the feature editor panel, resizing the fillet. This counter-intuitive behaviour not only utilizes the mouse wheel which should be exclusive to zooming in / out, but has also resized fillets without me realizing, resulting in incorrect / altered geometry.
Solution:
Offer a tick box to disable mouse wheel dimension adjustments, or eliminate that capacity altogether.
What version of Solidworks are you on? I do not get this behavior when my cursor is in the modeling space but do when the cursor is in the feature manager area specifically hovering over the dimension input box. Or click in space after selecting edit feature to disengage the spin box. Consider purchasing a 3D mouse, you may never use your scroll wheel again in Solidworks.
