I get annoyed when I have a large assy of parts and they are all expanded. To reduce the assy tree size i must minimize each part/subassy. Is there a "minimize all" ability?
I use 2014 and 2015
Right click on any item in the tree & towards the bottom of the menu that pops up is "Collapse Items". If it's not visible, scroll to bottom & click "Customise" & add it.
wow. my life is now complete thx
Expand/Collapse Tree = C
Collapse All Items = Shift C
The Collapse items command and shortcut seems to work fine for parts and assemblies, but I cannot get it to work for drawings. Is this a known error in SolidWorks? Is there a workaround for this?
Collapse All Items = Shift C seems to work fine in drawings but not Expand/Collapse Tree = C
Okay, I have tested this again. In drawings the feature manager will collapse if I have recently clicked on a feature within the feature manager window, but if I have been clicking on the graphics window, the command will no longer work unless I click back on a feature manager item.
If you click outside the sheet and then hit shift + c, then it would work.
Okay, that works. When I am in parts and assemblies, this is not a problem though. Is this just the nature of drawings? Maybe I should submit an enhancement request.
Yes that is a correct behavior or can say limitation for drawings.
Right click in Assembly feature Manager tree and select Collapse items.
