I am having a problem with solidworks. When I do a surface finish appearance on a part.,It looks great, (BOFORE)
But, when I take it to the assembly, it loses the diamond tread plate. (AFTER)
Any help on this would be appreciated.

It looks like that assembly appearance has taken over the components appearances. Right click on the top of the assembly in the assembly tree and select appearance and then select "Remove all component appearances..". Don't save the change until it is OK, so that you can do a quick undo if removing the assembly level appearance doesn't help.
Thank you for your help, but I tried and it didnt work. I also have some other components with surface finish, but when I bring them to the assembly, those properties are gone. Having Solid works standard may be the reason???
I tried that, but I do not have a color problem, I checked and theres no configuration overwriting it. Thanks for your help.

You must have RealView Graphics enabled to view surface finishes. If you're in Large Assembly mode it might not be available. As soon as I turned off Large Assembly Mode and Enabled my RealView Graphics, it shows correctly.
