I have recently purchased a 3D printer and have been putting together some models of chess pieces for test parts. They are all simple revolves, except for the knight, which has proven very problematic. I have created a loft for the horse head and am pretty pleased with how it came out. The real problem is the ears. I am using the same process, loft with guide curves, as for the head. While in the loft dialog I actually get a preview that looks great, but when I try to accept the feature I get the error "Loft operation failed to complete". How is this possible when it is showing me a preview of the loft already? I will attach some screens of the error and preview.
Thanks!
I would just do a revolve and then cut away the flat part of the ear then mirror it over.
but I know you want it one loft, SW does this in the preview to show you how it is stringing together, but until you hit the green check it is as you see just a quick view, not the final attempt. you may have to add guide curves or more area where the ear goes into the head, just have to play until you get it.
hence revolve, cut and then mirror.
