I am trying to tell the software that one face should be a triangle, but no cigar!
When you are in the loft, right click anywhere and pick "Show all connectors". Then you should see a bunch of cyan dots that tell the loft which parts of the profiles to connect. Drag the dots around as needed to get the proper corners to join.
You could also achieve the same result by adding 3D guide curves. Jamil's method is shorter though.
Well, I made a reference plane Plane1) parallel to the front plane. Then I sketched a center square on the Front Plane centered on the Origin and an eqquilateral triangle with the midpoint of the centerline from the vertex to the base midpoint on the origin. I then drew 3d sketched li8nes from the top corners of the squaqre to the vertex of the triangle. I used these as guide curves for the Loft.
When I lofted it, the top left edge of the Loft went to the vertex of the triangle but the top right edge went to the midpoint of the right side of the triangle. When I Shelled it, the fron face is a triangle & the back is a square, but the right side isn't real pretty.
Maybe you have already tried & got the same thing. Maybe there is swomeone more skilled than you & me that can come up with a better solution. As I'm typing, I'm thinking of doing surfaces. Create a square surface on the Font Plane, a triangular surface on Plane1 and then do a triangular face from the top corners of the square toe the vertex of the triangle and faces from the bottom and sides of the square to the bottom & sides of the triangle.
I will try it & post another reply.
Hah! I didn't see the first replies. It looks like what I was trying to do.
Chee, thanks, it was driving me crazy thinking you could not edit this.
It would be dependent on how you want the shape.
