Here is the picture of the BOM I see in every SolidWorks 2013 assembly.
Please advise how make it back to normal.
I have this kind of table in all assemblies.
The only way it looks normal if BOM opened in new window.
Just looks like you increased the font and the table did not scale with it.
1. Tools => Options => Document Properties => Detailing => Text scale: 1:1
2. You have Font size 48, change it to 24
3. click on the table and adjust Bom scaling
4. Delete the table and make a new one.
Text scale in Document Properties is 1:1.
Font size changing does not help much.
Table BOM scaling is 1.0. Changing does not help either.
Deleting and creating a new table results in pretty similar weird table.
I have checked some other assemblies are fine but some are not
nevertheless I never touched them.
Some tutorial assemblies have table grid located separatelly from table.
Are you running on Tested graphic card driver on supported graphic card ?
I do not know.
I have EliteBook8770w with NVIDIA Quadro K4000M.
Windows 7, 64x.
I have files where BOM represented fine so I guess the video driver is not
a subject to be blamed.
Tomorrow I will try the same files at my office machine.
SolidWorks claims this Laptop is accepted and certified
That´s definitely supported and here you can find a tested driver for it.
Graphics Card Drivers | SOLIDWORKS
I have the latest drived from HP.
I will blame the driver if my other machine will show the correct table on the same files.
SolidWorks is new for me. I am Inventor person.
I couls say there are some sketch building features and some other stuff that exceed Inventor
but BOM is really poor.
The latest driver from the HP site is not necessarily the best one to use.
Use the SolidWorks Rx > Diagnostics tool to see if the installed driver is suitable.
The driver you should be using is 188.8.131.5203 and can be downloaded from http://www.solidworks.com/downloads/videocarddriver/hp/sp58056.exe
If that is the one you are using, try deleting the driver, rebooting & reinstalling.
Part of the solution to this is to turn off perspective mode. See this thread for details:
Dimension numbers hovering when sketch is editing
I think this is a known issue & I am still getting it with SW2015. You can see the results I get on this post https://forum.solidworks.com/message/346648#346648 , it helps if you turn off Perspective mode but still isn't great.
Kelvin, have you tried inserting a BOM table into an assembly? Do you get the same result or does your table come out OK?
I'm not running SW15 yet, but the BOM in an assy works fine for me with SW14.
I did see this problem a while back with SW14 and disabling the Perspective option was the fix.
I have had the same issue back in SW2014 & earlier versions I believe. Disabling Perspective improves the table for me but certainly doesn't fix it as you can see from the images below.
Perspective mode on: Table off to the left, text on top of each other along with table bankground.
Perspective mode off: Table border missing, background missing but text OK.
Perspective mode off: The only time the table looks right is if I grab it by the corner to move it around, as soon as I reposition the table it reverts to looking like the above image.
Have you run the SOLIDWORKS Rx > Diagnostics tool after installing SW15?
Everything seems fine with Solidworks Rx tool. Only thing I get is an issue with write access to a Temp folder, which I've always had & don't know how to sort, a warning about "Toolbox is loaded on a local drive" & another saying "Could not open the service pack database"
