Hello and thanks all in advance for your help.

I would like to be able to do the following:

Have one assembly with two configurations. One for the view on the drawing, and a different one for the BOM. An example of this (I can't explain the actual situation I'm working with) would be a structure with a bunch of hardware. The drawing configuration would be everything unsurpressed, and the BOM configuration would be only the hardware. This way I can balloon the hardware items on the view, and by linking that view to the BOM the balloon item numbers should match.

I have successfully done this, but it generally fails after I make any small changes back and forth like the configuration the view looks at, or switch from detailed numbering to flat numbering in the BOM.

My question is, is this a reasonable way of doing this, and is there something I'm doing wrong?
