Hello Everyone,

I am trying to make an angle bracket in SolidWorks Premium 2014, Sheet Metal, and I want both ends of the flange to be the same length.

1. Make base flange 3 inches long.

2. Select Edge Flange and create a 3 inch edge flange.

None of the edge flange options (choosing where to start measuring the flange) give me the option to create a flange that is 3 inches long after the bend. If I say 3 inches, it includes some length caused by the bend. I could arbitrarily select a flange length of ~3.2 that would make the resulting flange 3 inches long after the bend, but this is not parametric and would result in the wrong size flange if I were to change my bend radius down the line.

Attached are some examples of what I am talking about.

Does anyone have a method for creating sheet metal flanges of equal length?

For now the only way I can make it parametric is to intentionally make the flange too long, then use an extruded cut so the flange has 3 inches after the bend even if the bend radius changes.
