I hope I am in the correct forum:
I am setting up our company's custom materials database. I added my first material, "Aluminum 6061-T-6" (I realize it's like Alloy 6061 but we need it worded exactly our way). I went to Create/Edit Material, and selected <New Material Database> at which time I was prompted to Save As with its new name, which I did. I saved it here:
C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\lang\english\sldmaterials
which is where the SolidWorks Materials database resides, with an .sldmat file extension, which I also used.
From there, I thought I clicked OK, saved and closed the part. When re-opened, and other parts as well, there are 2 company databases in my drop-down under Materials Editor.
They both have the newly added aluminum 6061-T6, but how do I delete one? Also, when I went to "point" to (add it) it under Tools, Options, System Options, File Locations, drop-down to Material Databases, it only shows the folder (directory), not the exact name of the file. Can't we have multiple file locations here? Where's my company database if there are 2 in the part? I want one in the part and one in File Locations, but I am 2 and zero!
Can anyone help me, please? Thanks!
