smooth transition between two sheet metal bodies using edge flange
anyone know a fast way to do this. it should resemble the sketch that is in there when finished.
The problem is that your flange creates relief cuts with the bend region lying between them.
when you try to unbend the part and create tabs to fill in the sides, the tab profiles have to cross the bend
Once you do that, the flange can't be rebent.
About the only think you can do is back up and change your approach to the design. Create the bent flange as one operation and then unfold and shape it in another:
First make your top sheet metal body the same width as the bottom one.(NOtice I changed the flange sketch but left the old sketch in there for later reference)
Then, flatten the part and lay out your shaping cuts.
Then refold the part:
This approach produces cleaner corners and requires fewer features.
