Hi all,
I am workingv on an simple project but I need your help. I enclosed a picture of my project. I have two plastic cylinders(contact with friction). I would like to know the force I need(2 pointers) in order to my orange cylinder does a displacement of 5 cm long. I fixed my blue cylinder and imposed the displacement to the orange cylinder. The simulation looks working(Large displacement) but how I can know the force?
Moreover I take advantage of that to ask you another question. Usually when I do a FEA analysis with other softwares I check if my results don't depend on my mesh. But apparently here Solidworks does it by itself, right?
Thanks !
output force with the reaction force tool
and no, solidworks doesn't automatically check for convergence. there is adaptive meshing that helps but is not automatic.
im also not sure if this analysis is a good fit for fea since the components are just moving, not deforming
