There is a file in the browse recent documents that will not go away, the file and folder have been deleted.
These filename are stored in the registry under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\Solidworks 20XX\Recent File List
Clearing out this registry key will remove it from recent documents.
Thanks Brian. How do I clear the registry key?
Run regedit.exe as Administrator.
Browse to that registry key
The next time you fire up SolidWorks it will be automatically created.
Deleting or moving files will not remove them from that list. As you open more files, that one should get pushed off the bottom (so it's not one of the last 16 files opened) and go away.
Thanks Glenn. It always stays in the first position.
Have you tried re-starting your computer?
If it's staying in first position, make sure that it hasn't been pinned in place.
With SW closed, you could use this REG file to clear the Recent File List registry key.
You may have to edit the file in Notepad to set the SW version.
