if part or assembly have same name (number) as drawing can You rename them in the same time
Not that I know of.
It has to go through the motions determining all the "where used" situations one at a time.
that would be great enhancement its really time consuming one by one
you COULD do a pack n go, select only the part-assy-dwg. change the names there and save in the same location then just delete the originals. that would prob be the fastest way as of now.
thank You but its just only way around it not straight even Proe have it
I find that I can change many file names pretty quickly in succession using SW Explorer.
It would be nice to to multiples at once, but in my mind, it's not a big deal.
I'd rather have the piece of mind that Explorer is checking my references properly and updating them as needed, one at a time.
You can use Windows explorer. Close out of SolidWorks. Go to the file location with Windows explorer, then right click on the file, drop down to SW rename click on that and type the new name you want to use. Do this for each file and you should be all set.
ya same idea. i think pack n go is prob the closest you will get to renaming all files in one shot. even though u still have to select them all and rename each..still. i personally do not use sw explorer at all. it can all be done in windows explorer.
