I have a customer solid which my CAM software does not play well with. The collection of faces on the periphery of the 6" pipe is the main culprit. The CAM needs a nice, smooth solid to perform best. I have been able to generate a usable solid. However, the process was involved enough that it did not lend itself well to repeating 100+ times. The outer profile needs to be smooth. And the cope needs to follow the original solid very closely. How would you tackle this? Any Master modeler care to take this on and share your method? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is this stp file generated from another CAD program or is it a scan? If it's from another CAD program, have them save it as an iges file.
Otherwise, I would use the existing body as a template and recreate the part.
