does anybody known, how to open Solidwork 2014 file in Solidworks 2013 version..?
Please refer the link
HAVE THEM SAVE IT AS A PARASOLID FILE.
This is the correct solution. PARASOLID. Don't use STEP or IGES
The problem with this suggestion is completely losing the feature tree.
If you open the native 2014 file directly in SW 2013 SP5.0 and use it as a reference to your parts or as a component in an assembly, once the result of your work is re-opened in 2014, everything is there, including the feature tree of the original file.
Have to save as a STP, IGS or other format. Will not open older files otherwise!
Have the part or assembly sent to you as a .STEP file. then open it in 2012/2013. Save in 2013 as assembly or part and reopen. The parts/Assembly can then be modified and saved. Some information will be lost but you have the model.
Make sure you have SW 2013 SP5.0 and then simply open SW 2014 files. You would be able to open parts and assemblies only without access to their feature tree.
You can still do a lot of things with them, like incorporating them in your assemblies or use their edges and faces as references for your other parts. Once you send the whole assembly back to the 2014 user, he or she will be able to use everything.
You can Open 2014 file in 2013 SP 5.0 only, if you have SP other than 5.0. then you cannot open it directly, you have to save it as an .iges, parasolid or other formats & they you have to open it in SolidWorks 2013.
I've been able to do it with 13 into 12 using ProE. Just ask your client to sent it as a ProE file. May not work with 14 though since I've not had occasion to try it. As others have written, Step and IGS will also work but ProE is so muck like SW that nothing is lost.
