Anyone was able to create proper elbolet?
I would like to have the proper part that is bug free since i have a part that is half-functional (it works only in clockwise direction in front view. cannot flip it).
All olets, as far as I know and have experienced, only work partially.
The best way to use them would be to go in the lowest possible assembly and position them there by means of dimensions, construction lines and what not.
Not sure which version you are using Peter. If i was using 2013 i would be agreeing with you. In 2014 a big improvement was made and, to me at least, o-lets are acting pretty close to how a fitting should behave. I tried creating an elbolet, like i said, and it is partially working. The problem is that the olet axis and alignment axis coincide, where in SW o-let definition should be perpendicular. And would like to have it working so i would not have to mess with constraining fitting to a route...
From what's new in 2014 "Using a sketch dimension, you can set a dimension to an o-let stub to locate it with a linear dimension or orient it with an angular dimension."
Which to me sounds pretty much the same as the method I've been using since 2010 when they added the possibility to use a distant mate to situate the olet on the route.
I guess I will have to try out some stuff and modify my way of using them.
