I have a fresh install on my machine at home but I'm having trouble connecting to the vault. I have everything installed on the H drive and the default "pdmwadmin" login and password aren't working. Any ideas?
Make sure the PDMW service is actually running, Look in Services to find "SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Server" and make sure it says "Started" under status. If not running, start the service and try logging in again.
Be sure you have installed both the PDM Server and the Pdmw admin. It's easy to miss installing both instead of one. Also, check the location being "pointed to" for the vault - I believe it should be "localhost".
I do recall "localhost" working. On a test vault I set up recently, I just used the name of my computer and it worked fine.
I've tried the computer name and localhost and it's still not detecting the hard drive with the vault on it. I also checked the services and it is running.
When at the login screen, start by entering the computer name first then click in the name box. Does this action generate an error or does it happen later after you click the login button?
If the vault computer name generates the error it means that it can not connect to the vault at all. If the login generates the error it means it is rejecting the username/password.
