Do you need the actual texture or just the cosmetic appearance?
Unless you have a very powerful computer, an actual texture like that will probably bring SW to it's knee's.
Yes I do need the actual texture. I have to 3D print it when it is done. I do have a pretty powerful computer, we will see how it goes.
A little hard to see what is connected, but it looks like the base pattern consists of four Ø4.5mm doughnuts (or donuts depending where you live) arranged horizontally to form a base, followed by four Ø3mm donuts or disks placed vertically, then joined with a web and finally filleting & drafting ... which could be a nightmare in itself. The result could then be patterned, which is where SW would start to complain.
If you can share, I would be very interested in seeing the final model & printed part
Thanks Kelvin. Once I get the part printed I will take a picture, that is if I don't kill SW trying to create the pattern
check these guys out....Software for additive manufacturing
I think your building block is a shape as shown below. Mirror and rotate as needed. It gets flipped front to back to do the shapes on the back. The hard part is figuring out what the shape is on the far side, where the shape fits together.
Thanks Dwight. I will give this a try Monday morning. Have a great weekend
