I have a large assembly with several pipe routes which are routed along a plane using the route along relation. I'm having a problem with the routes flipping their relations from one side of the plan to the other so that instead of the pipe running 5" below the plane it runs 5" above. When I correct the relation the route will stay as desired for several rebuilds and saves and then will seemingly randomly flip agian. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix?
I am using SolidWorks Premium 2014 x64 SP0.0
As said, we experienced something like that with 2013. We didn't have that problem with 2014 but then again we by-passed 2014 SP 00 entirely and went from '13 SP 05 directly to '14 SP 01.
I there for would strongly advise you, if at all possible, to get SP1 or later.
Also a word to the wise, it took us several years before we actual did it ourselves, avoid SP 0 unless you have time to burn. You might get lucky but chances are that the early version has teething problems. Let the big companies, neophytes and those that just have to have the latest of the latest run that gaunlet.
The only thing you can do with what you have is define the route with a plane. Define the plane with 3 points. If the route still flips around to the other side of the plane, either redefine the distance (flip it back like you have been doing) or redefine the plane by using the same 3 point but going counter clockwise instead of clockwise. Yes, the sequence that you select the points in will determine what is top / bottom or front / back of the plane.
