I made some changes to a BOM in a drawing which references an Assembly. I then checked it into the PDM vault. I checked in both the assembly and the drawing. After checking the drawing / assembly back out of the vault the changes were not retained in the drawing BOM. Thanks.
What kind of changes were they? Formatting changes, changing the order of parts, adding/removing parts from the assembly? My first check would be to make sure the assembly actually got checked in. If it didn't then any changes made to it that affected the BOM would be wiped out when the assembly was checked out again.
I manually overwrote some fastener entries on the BOM by updating the part numbers and descriptions. The item numbers were also updated and the order was changed. The document history for the part shows that both the assembly and the drawing were both checked in at the same time so the changes should have been retained.Thanks.
Did you update the part numbers and descriptions by changing custom properties within part files? If that is the case you would need to check in those part files as well.
Right clicking on the BOM part preview icon and selecting exclude from BOM breaks the link with the part. This was automatically updated every time I reloaded the drawing from the vault. The wrong part details were being copied over for the fasteners from the toolbox. These toolbox parts needed to be saved off with their own part number and detailed descriptions added. Then right clicking a row at the bottom of the BOM and inserting a row below allowed a part to be added manually with no link to any part. I checked this into the vault and checked it out again and the changes were retained. Thanks.
