I have a curved guard rail and i'm trying to get all of the faces of the vertical members to line up with the face of the curved members (material is 2x2 hss). I have attached the part.
To get the proper rotation of the upright tubes you need a radial line in the 3d sketch. In the property manager of the feature there is an option to use an entity to align the profile.
Actually, didn't work so well. Do i have to have each vertical piece follow its own radial line? The first one lines up great, but they get further off as they go.
Short answer yes. However you'll need to add the members either as a new group within the member command or as individual members. This is because all the members in one group follow the same alignment.
Yes. You can create groups within the feature. After setting up the first one, click the new group button. All members in a group will be rotated the same so you need to separate them to have the proper alignment (see attached part). Another option if the uprights are evenly spaced is to create only the first upright and do a circular pattern of bodies. Select one of the curved faces of the rail as the axis.
