I am looking for concrete as a material, and I think there is one under sustainability extras-building materials. But I cannot see any materials in my sustainability materials folder. Any ideas why not?
You can review whether you have added material properties for Sustainability Material, System options - File Locations - Material Databases.
This Will shows which are the material properties you have already added. so that you will come to know whether you added sustainability material or not. I you not added you can add and you will get from Sustainability material.
For your reference i enclosed Screen Shot of My Material Properties.

See screenshot of my file locations. It looks like sustainability is added. But I can't seem to find it when editing materials.
Once again add the Material folder file path in File Location > Material Database > Select the new path added and Click "MoveUp" Button > Make the new added file path to come first Close and open the Solidworks application > Now you'll find the sustainability material in your "Edit Material" Sustainability folder.
Thanks and Regards

Thanks for your help Venkatesh, but I still cannot seem to find the sustainability materials. I tried to follow the steps you suggested, but there is still no materials listed in my sustainability folder. I guess I don't really need them.
I have the same problem, 4.5 years later. Unfortunately Kumar's suggestion to add the path isn't helpful because I'm not sure where to point the setting to.
When I click to update the materials it says it's up to date but I see no materials there.
There's a description of where to put the gabiswengine.gbm file that is supposed to contain the materials here, near the bottom of the page. I found the one located in C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS is newer than the one you can download. I put it where that site suggested but it didn't help.
Any ideas on how to get this to work? Or, anyone know where to get the building materials that are included, that's what I'm looking for.
I was having the same problem. Until I remembered the Sustainability command on the Evaluate tab. So to answer the lingering question, in order to enable the materials from the sustainability materials database you have to start a sustainability evaluation. As soon as you do that SOLIDWORKS will load the materials from the database and you will then be able to apply the desired material.
I hope this helps.
So i tired this and I get this prompt:
I followed the link and got my code. I then tried to access the Sustainability materials and I get this:
Our licenses are Standard and Professional only, not Premium. So, it looks like this is a paid option only.
Apologies Doug. That is true we have premium licences here. That fact didn't occur to me, but you could get away with one license if that's an option.
No problem, it's poor implementation on SW's part. It seems as though the option should be available, but it's broken somehow. It should more clearly communicate that these are only available for Premium customers only.
