Hi, what I am trying to do is manipulate this hand model. I downloaded this hand model from grabcad here HUMAN HAND - SOLIDWORKS, Other, STEP / IGES - 3D CAD model - GrabCAD XAMR made and I am triyng to flex and shape it into a hand that is giving a thumbs up.
I've tried using the flex, but it ends up flexing the back of the hand as well. I am looking to keep the back of the hand straight while curling the fingers inward and the thumb upward.
Here's an image for reference:

I was able to convert it to a solid in FreeCAD, then export as a step file. I was able to open it in SW but it took a really long time to open, like 5 minutes. Then when import diagnostics came up it said it had faulty faces, and when I tried to repair all it ran for a couple minutes and SW crashed. I was planning on attaching the step file but I just realized it's 167 MB, so I guess not.
Did you try opening the STL in SW with the surface body option? It might take a really long time to open but it might work eventually. Then you could knit the surface body to form a solid.
