I'm doing a fairly simple static analysis of a horizontal simply supported beam subject to external loads.

I have the beam material modelled but what I'm wondering is whether, in doing the static analysis of the external loads, it automatically accounts for the self weight of the beam or do I need to add that as an additional external UDL on the beam also?
