I need to create a Radial Draft , and am having difficulty in selecting the neutral plane. Model attached showing Drafr4 where I have the issue.
I tried and failed using a surface extension face that was tanget to the root of the belt tooth .
Peter, check the attached if that is what is you looking for.
The Die will be made with cam action teeth, so the draft really need to be radial. Having said this I colud gererate a series of Darfs (one for each tooth) using multiple sptit lines.
How about using a sweep cut or extrude cut and then pattern that.
It took a bit but I was able to get a draft of sorts in your part.
Take a look and let me know if this is what you were looking for. It isn't a radial draft, but you now have a belt groove with a 2 degree draft on either side.
Much appreciated Deanna. This works
Why not just simplify and eliminate the draft. Replace the draft with a chamfer of similar geometry.
Brent, This was clearly the simplest solution
