I have a solid square structure that i want to deform to take the shape after another tool solid. I have tried using the Surface push feature, with no luck, it's only approximately the same, not completly.
How can it be done else? I dont want to use the indent or intersect feature, because the solid structure has different layers in it, and i want these layers wrapped around the tool surface.
The curve-to-curve deform feature doesn't work either, the solid is not tangent between the guide curves.
Best regards
Christian
Hi Christian
I have never used the deform surface feature before but this is what I did
First I hid your surface body and only showed your sketch. I then edited your sketch and selected all the lines and arcs and used the fit spline command to convert the sketch into a continous spline.
I then created a sketch on the opposite large face and using the convert entities tool I made a copy of my spline.
I now used the deform tool to deform the solid body, I used the curve to curve option and I selected the outside edge and the first sketch
Then I selected the + to the right of Set to add a second set of selections , make sure and slide the accuracy slider to the right
Select ok and your part then looks like this
Hope this helps. If you only wanted the top piece of your part to deform them maybe you could split the body into 2 pieces then deform the top part and then do an extrude to join the 2 pieces together again.
Hope this helps
