I have scaled a model and now the zoom to fit gets far like the unscaled model.
How can I fix this?
Looks like a bug in the file. Can you please report this to your VAR (from where you've purchased the software).
2014 SOLIDWORKS Help - View Options
Try changing the zoom to fit operation.
where more specifically please?
Have you scaled UP or DOWN?
What exactly you mean by "zoom to fit gets far like the unscaled model". Can you post a screen shot?
Can you check if there is any plane/sketch entity that have have increase in size or move away from model.
I mean that the "zoom to fit" fits to the 1:1 model, like it is hidden.
Yes I have reduced all planes in all levels to fit the model.
Although for my creation of the model I needed to create the planes you can see in the image, could it be them?
This is a problem with the Scale feature. It scales the part, but not the sketches and planes that were used to build the part. Your Zoom is big enough to catch the planes.
A macro exists that actually goes through a model and scales all of the dimensions and sketches. I assume that it would have to scale the dimensions that drive the plane locations as well. If you run that macro on your part it is as if you made it to the smaller or larger scale to begin with.
You ought to be able to find the macro by a suitably worded search in the forums.
Hi Jerry thanks for the help,
So what you are saying is that there is a macro that changes all dimensions and etc. instead of using the scale function?
Should I post this bug in an other section of the forum?
This is not a bug but intended behavior of scale feature. Your best option is to hide all planes/sketches etc. and then do the Zoom to Fit.
I have all of them hidden I just selected them in the screen shot.
Can you attach the file here to check. Click on advanced editor and then scroll down to see he option to attach the file.
here you have hope you can find the solution
Here is the macro if you want to try: ModelRescaler by Leonard Kikstra
Yes, there is a macro that does that. I don't remember who wrote it or where to find it, I just remember seeing it being mentioned a number of times in the forums.
As Deepak said, if you think the zoom is not working properly, the correct method is to report it through your VAR.
PS. I see that Deepak posted the macro for you.
