I am having issues with the circular pattern command. I have created several parts over the last couple weeks without any issues, but all of a sudden I am getting an error (geometry pattern results in disjoint bodies) Is this a software problem or something in the settings? I have not changed anything about the procedures I use to create my parts.
I have used both, but get the same problem. I am doing a pattern of extruded cuts about the z-axis. I have done this several times without any problems. It just started doing this, and has been a problem on every part I have created since the first time seeing this error.
I apologize, that was the y-axis, which shouldn't really make a difference.
Could you attach an example file for us to look at?
Here is a snapshot of the part and the error it keeps giving me. Do you need a solidworks ipt file, or is the screen shot enough?
Did you try de-selecting "Geometry Pattern", as the error message says? If that doesn't work, please post the part file if you can. Click on "Use advanced editor" at top right of the reply box to post files.
I had done this before when prompted, but I may have gotten happy with the double clicks. It worked this time. Thank you.
If you're patterning bodies, then are you selecting "Bodies to Pattern", or "Features to Pattern"? If you are patterning bodies, then you need to select "Bodies to Pattern". If that's not it, can you post the part that's causing the problem?
