Does anyone know how to make text on spherical surface?
Use Wrap feature under Insert > Feature > Wrap
In the extrude/cut extrude try offset from surface.
You can use split line
Hi Deepak Gupta
The example of Wrap feature shows that it works on cylindrical surface. Do you know how to use it on spherical surface, step by step?
I don't think you can wrap onto a sphere, but the extrude with offset from surface should work.
Is the extrude from Flat surface to spherical surface? Do you know how to do it, step by step?
The exact steps will depend on where you want the text on the sphere. If you want just a small amount of text directly on top of the sphere, then you can start a sketch on the bottom flat face of the sphere. In that sketch draw the text you want, you might need to flip the orientation of the text so it looks right when viewed from above.
Then initiate an Extruded Boss, and in Direction 1, change "Blind" to "Offset From Surface", and then select the spherical face and enter the offset (how thick you want the letters).
Then click OK. If nothing shows up, try editing the feature and checking the box for "Reverse offset". That should do it.
Does it work at any location on spherical surface?
It will work at any location, but for best results you'll want to sketch on a plane that is perpendicular to the view looking at the text straight-on. So if you want the text at 45 degrees from horizontal, you'd want to make a plane at that angle and sketch the text onto it.
Thank you very much for your help.
