When I create project and convert it to a template, how do I modify that template? Modifying the project does not work, unless I save it again.
I guess I can answer my own question. Just modify the "template" project, press "Save as template" and overwrite your template.
Also, if you have whole bunch of old templates or the templates that you do not need, simply go to ($AppDataPath)ProjectTemplate\ folder and delete those templates.
Templates are simply projects that have been archived. The Save as template command will archive the selected project and automatically add the .proj.tewzip file to your ProjectTemplate folder as you have noted.
You can also add more templates by manually putting archived projects, (please note that this will only work with project archive files), into this folder. Moving/cutting/deleting archives out of this folder will remove them from the templates list as SOLIDWORKS Electrical reads the \\ProjectTemplate folder to populate the list of templates when creating a new project.
I appreciate you already answered this yourself but hope this information is useful.
For some reason, I can't find the "Save as Template" command...?
Open the Project Manager, Close the project that you want to Save as a template. The icon is in the center of the commands inbetween Duplicate and Delete.
