We have our toolbox located on a server and with a custom
standard for our custom toolbox parts that didn't come with SW. The
file-tree structure is as following:
Root
->Solidworks
-->Browser
--->ansi inch
--->Custom Parts
.
.
.
-->Custom Parts
--->Fasteners
---->Washers
When I create a new toolbox part it is saved in the appropriate location in the bottom Custom Parts folder, which is at the same level as the Browser folder. When I add the part to the toolbox through SolidWorks' fly-out window it creates a copy in the Custom Parts folder in the Browser folder. Whenever I use the new toolbox part it references the duplicate file in the Custom Parts folder that is located within the Browser folder.
My question is, what is the best way to get the parts to the fly-out window without having it create a duplicate in the Browser/Custom Parts/...etc folder? Any idea why they changed this behavior in 2007 vs 2006 and previous versions?
