Ive been at it for 2 days and cant solve it. I gave full control to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SolidWorks\Licenses" still no luck. Please tell me how to overcome this please, ive attached the log too.
Are you replacing the child object's permissions with the permissions from that key? We set full control on 3 reg keys, they are below, wonder if they bottom 2 aren't getting full control.

I am having the same issue as Kaleem. I have checked permissions on all 3 reg keys. User EVERYONE has full access but the issue still preesnt. Do you have any further suggestions?
In my case the user tried upgrading to v2015, however the installation failed and rolled back. After the rollback it uninstalled v2014 and now we cannot reinstall it without getting error 1406.
Sorry Ben, that usually fixes that issue for us. Be nice if this error didn't happen, it seems like it pops up more then it should...
Just thought I'd provide an update as we have now resolved the issue.
It turns out the user's machine was infected with the SystemK trojan, which was locking down reg keys. Once we rooted out the trojan the installation worked.
