I can't say for sure what is causing the error, but it is always recommended to run the same service pack on EPDM and SolidWorks. EPDM should always be at the same SP or ahead of the SolidWorks SP.
Who recommends that?
I think this is a known issue:
S-064549 What causes the Enterprise PDM 2014 SP0 add-in to fail loading in SolidWorks 2014 SP1 or newer, with the error: 'The add-in does not support SolidWorks newer than installed EPDM version, or older than 2 previous versions'?
Enterprise PDM 2014 officially supports SolidWorks 2014, 2013 and 2012. If you are running Enterprise PDM with an older (or newer) version of SolidWorks the Enterprise PDM SolidWorks add-in should show a warning that the version is not supported.
If you are using Enterprise PDM 2014 SP0 (v.14.0.506) this version check is too granular and will also trigger if the installed SolidWorks version is a newer 2014 service pack, such as SW 2014 SP1. When SolidWorks is starting up or if you try to add the Enterprise PDM SolidWorks add-in after it is started, the add-in will not load and the following warning will show (see attached EPDM2014SP0_SW_Version_Warning.jpg).
The SolidWorks Enterprise PDM add-in does not support SolidWorks newer than installed SolidWorks Enterprise PDM version or older than 2 previous versions.
This is a problem reported under SPR 734889.
- The SPR has been addressed in Enterprise PDM 2014 SP1.
- If you cannot upgrade to EPDM 2014 SP1 you can use attached hotfix (Enterprise2014SP0_SPR734889_Hotfix.zip).
You can find the hotfix via Knowledge base, than search for the solution number.
Perfect! Thank you, Richard.
