We're setting up our vault with a simple file structure, IE:
VaultName
CADDrawings
ReleasedDrawings
In our vault "ReleasedDrawings" directory, we will have duplicate file names. For example, say part A1010 went through. A1010 has a Design drawings, and a process drawing as well.
Keeping it simple, the process drawing has the same name as the design drawing, both A1010. However, the metadata is different to the point of Department being Process or Design.
We then want to be able to have there be two files in the "ReleasedDrawings" directory of A1010.PDF, and the difference held in metadata.
Is it possible to have duplicate file names in a single directory?
Thank you,
Rob
Rob;
If you go to the Admin window and right click on File Types it shows you the options for duplicate file names and it doesn't look like what you are looking for is an option. Do your drawings have to have the same name exactly? Otherwise you could always have an A1010-01 and A1010-02 or something similar. This way they would have the same family name but the suffix would indicate which drawing type it would be.
