I was told by friends in the industry that the Xeon E3-1226v3 is a great processor to work with SolidWorks. It also has a FirePro V4900 Vedio card installed and 8 GB of ram.

Well, I sent back the computer and re-ordered a new, more powerful work station. I ordered the T1700 chassis, Intel E3-1246v3 processor, 16 GB 1600 DDR3 non-ECC Ram, a AMD W5000 2GB video card, a upgraded W365 power supply, 16X DVD-ROM and 16X DVD+/-RW Drive, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and 1 TB 7200 Rpm Hard Drive.
A faster processor is always better (3.50 GHz versus 3.30 GHz). It does have integrated Intel HD Graphics. You may have been better off with the E3-1241v3.
That being said: a 7200 RPM drive is going to be the weak link of this configuration. We have almost exclusively switch over to SSD. The difference in night and day.
I would expect it should work just fine. Keep in mind that the T1700 is a low-range workstation.
