Custom Properties and PDM Check-in

We've just set up Workgroup PDM and we have 99% of things working, the one thing we're struggling to understand is linking custom properties.

All our drawings, parts and assemblies link via custom properties, but when checking the files into PDM works only the parts and assemblies show the custom properties. The drawing custom properties stay empty.

See below, we have populated the part and assembly files with drawing numbers, revisions and so on which link to tables on the drawing. The problem is when checking these into the vault, the 'Number' field remains empty for the drawings.

Is there any way to link the drawing 'number' to the drawing number contained within the part the drawing is referenced to? We have tried adding $PRPSHEET:"custom property" but this doesn't seem to work?

Any help would be appreciated.
